There are a range of modifications to heavy vehicles that may require checking by an Approved Inspector to ensure the work has been completed according to QLD Transport Code of Practice safety requirements.

The most common modification plate requirement for a truck is to cover the fitment of a body (i.e. pantech, tipper, flatbed). Other modification plates may be needed to cover on board cranes, turntables, tail-gate lifters and air operated controls.

The modification plate is a blue metal plate engraved with modification details relevant to the truck – it is always riveted inside the cab usually within the door frame or under the dashboard.
